Gaglione & Dolan (the "Firm") was formed on September 1, 1994. The founding shareholders, Claudia L. Gaglione and Robert T. Dolan were previously partners together in the law firm of Berman, Gaglione, Dolan & Tetreault. In 2001, Jeffrey Kaplan became a shareholder. Effective January 1, 2010, the Firm name was changed to Gaglione, Dolan & Kaplan. The Firm specializes in the areas of professional malpractice, construction law, and comprehensive general liability, both from the defense and the coverage perspective.
The firm's litigation practice has an emphasis on the defense of professional malpractice claims against attorneys, real estate brokers and appraisers, insurance agents and numerous other professionals. The Firm defends general liability matters, including a significant amount of construction defect litigation across all counties in California, premises liability, and homeowner association matters. In addition, the Firm handles the defense of employment practices claims. Attorneys with Gaglione, Dolan, & Kaplan handle matters throughout the State of California and in Federal District Courts. Our clients retain our firm to defend cases outside the County of Los Angeles, and across the State of California, because of our specialized knowledge and our efficient methods of handling matters to their conclusion.
Robert Dolan is the Firm's senior trial attorney. Mr. Dolan and Mr. Kaplan supervise the Firm’s litigation department. They both have successfully defended numerous lawsuits in State and Federal Courts throughout California and have spoken at seminars for professionals discussing loss prevention techniques and tactics for defending professional malpractice claims. Mr. Kaplan has also spoken to numerous contractors and general liability insurers about the utilization of better practices in managing construction projects, contractors’ employees and staff, and documenting construction projects to increase the defenses available to attorneys when having to defend a contractor’s work.

of coverage opinions, the drafting of Reservation of Rights letters and
the supervision of Cumis Counsel are some of the numerous services provided
to insurance carrier clients. The firm represents carriers in bad faith
actions and intervenes on behalf of carriers to protect their policies
when their insureds are suspended or dissolved corporations and cannot
